Summer Bike Challenge

The Summer Bike Challenge is designed to get kids on bikes! Children between the ages of 4 and 16 are encouraged to get out and get active by safely riding their bikes for fun and fitness and documenting those bike rides for a chance to win great prizes provided by our sponsors!

Register today by clicking on the link below and then downloading a Summer Bike Challenge Record.

​

For each 1/2 hour of time spent riding a bike, participants can fill in a symbol in their record book. Once a participant reaches 6 hours of ride time, they can turn in their record book by emailing it to GearUpBMX@gmail.com Every 1/2 hour block of time completed by September 15th will earn them one ticket for our grand prize drawing.

Participants can earn bonus entries from each record book they turn in by completing the following activities: 

  • Visiting a local Bike Shop

  • Riding on a Local Bike Trail

  • Riding in a State Park

  • Getting an Adult to Ride with them

  • Visiting a BMX Track

  • Getting a Friend to Register for the Challenge

All logs must be submitted no later than September 15, 2018.

NEW THIS YEAR

Team Competition

Register a team of individual riders to see who can log the most hours this summer. Prizes in the team category will be awarded based on actual hours ridden and not randomly drawn.

OFFICIAL RULES

​

You must complete an application and waiver to be eligible to participate and win.

 

Applications are available at our website or any of our sponsors. Completed forms can either be scanned and submitted via email to gearupbmx@gmail.com. For questions or more information, please call (302) 236-0025.

 

Every time you ride a bike for at least 1/2 an hour, fill in one of the helmets to earn one entry into our end of summer Grand Prize drawing. When you complete six hours of riding, scan and email your completed log book to us at gearupbmx@gmail.com.  Over the course of the summer, you can complete as many booklets as you spend time on your bike. Entries are given in the form of raffle tickets which will be labeled with your name and placed into the drum upon receipt of your completed record sheet and verification of completed application and waiver.

 

Bonus entries may each be earned only once per record sheet.

 

A parent/legal guardian must sign each application and waiver form as well as each record sheet that is submitted.

 

GearUp, our volunteers, board members, and sponsors are not liable for any injuries which occur during or as a result of your participation in the Summer Bike Challenge or any other events relating to or promoted by GearUp.

 

A random drawing will be held on a date announced and no later than September 30, 2018 during which time the grand prize winner and all other prizes will be announced. Entrants need not be present to win. Participants must be between the ages of 4-16 on the day of the drawing.

Following our website as well as the Facebook Event page for the Summer Bike Challenge will ensure that you have the mot up to date information on participation. 

​

Registered team captains will submit a roster at the end of the season. All hours submitted by team members will then be added together and averaged. The teams with the top three average ride times will be declared winners of the 2019 Summer Bike Challenge. 

​

Prizes are subject to terms and conditions set forth by the sponsors and winners are responsible for fulfilling all obligations set forth by the sponsor in order to redeem the prizes.
